Kooshin is a bonafide legend in Somali music. As a young artist he trained with Somalia's esteemed national music group Waaberi before releasing several successful recordings as a solo performer. For the last 20 years Kooshin has been living and performing in Toronto, Canada and won a Juno for his work with the Okavango African Orchestra.

This collection of recordings was made by Kooshin over 10 years ago. Many of the songs suffered from poor sound quality and were never released. We've done our best to re-master these beautiful love songs for this recording which we've titled Kalgacayl ('sweetheart').
